Be very weary of anything which will reduce the time you have to accomplish something.
Time is undervalued and underappreciated.
Sometimes it’s tempting to do something which will give you a short term gain, but that will reduce the time you have to accomplish X,Y and Z.
For example if you take anabolic steroids, it may give you a short term boost in muscle mass. But this short term gain comes with the cost of reduced longevity. In other words over the long term you’ll be worse off.
In business, be careful about taking VC money. Investment is a short term boost, but it comes with the cost of having a limited runway.
And why the rush anyway?
What’s wrong with doing things slowly, enjoying the ride, staying in for the long haul and caring deeply about what you are doing?
Time is an overlooked form of arbitrage that scrappy startups can use to their advantage.
Get rid of it at your own risk.
