Model Of The World

Certain domains such as mathematics or physics have a “truth” that everyone can agree on. You can reproduce 𝝅r2 at any time to show that this is true.

However, most things aren’t true or false in the same way.

For most things, you do not have perfect information and therefore cannot make perfect decisions. In uncertain situations, a model is often your best tool for decision-making.

For example, calories are a good tool to help you lose or gain weight. It may not be mathematically perfect as the human body is a complex system, but you can use this as a model to help you navigate.

Developing a model / a way of thinking about complex systems is the key for forward momentum. Otherwise you will get stuck in “analysis paralysis”. Or as Voltaire put it: “Perfect is the enemy of done”.
